Reflections and Responses for my Module Two feedback

Hi,
It feels little weird to blog after a long gap...however, writing blog creates a sense of belonging to our MAPP community.  Summer vacation kept me engaged with great family time, traveling and performance opportunities in India.   Attending Summer Intensive Dance writing course at Middlesex University added valuable inputs and provided new understanding of dance education.

Feedback is something which I always look forward to with great excitement. I received my Module Two feedback promptly in the first week of July 2017 which said my research proposal suggested a potential area of inquiry.  Looking from a non-positivist approach, nature of my inquiry stressed on adopting socially constructed realities like conducting interviews and collecting data from the questionnaire.  However, I had not discussed in depth as to whom was I leaning on for collecting philosophical framework phenomenologist or Pragmatist?

Further, I learnt that I could expand my area of research by looking into Dewey and Maslow's work on the topic 'learning beyond the classroom experience'. My intentions were to to integrate notions of Holistic development of a dancer connecting health, behaviour, lived experiences, theories, and voices from other practices as well to obtain in-depth understanding of my topic. I have now decided to look into Journal of Dance and Spirituality, Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices Research in Dance Education etc.
Having decided on my research methods, being mindful of the ethical considerations I am eager to know how narrative data collected truthfully from my participants could enable me to create new knowledge? How to investigate with an openness not to pre-empt and to focus on exploring the topic rather than evidence gathering?
With these thoughts, I am planning to move forward to view the underlying value of these learning methods in parallel to my own process of research.
